Trail Work Days

The Palmetto Trail exist because of the efforts and time of volunteers.  As we continue forward to complete the 425 miles of trail, we are also staying focused on maintaining and improving the passages already complete.  Trail Workdays are essential in this process, also allowing participants to take ownership and build friendships while making a difference.  Thank you for your time and your efforts.

If you would like to arrange a work day for your boy scout, girl scout, youth group, or any other group, please contact us at (803)771-0870.

Volunteer Info:

Saturday September 21, 2013 9am-3pm

Please join us at 9:00amSeptember 21, 2013, for our first Fall 2013 Trail Maintenance Service Outings. Our project will consist of trail work on the Rim of the Gap Trail. We will work from the starting time until about 3:00pm. We will take a lunch break at 12:00 noon. All tools are furnished by the State Park. We just need you and your desire to give back to the trails that we all use in our State Park. We are asked not to bring our pets while working on the trail service project. We will meet at 9:00am, Saturday, September 21,2013, at the HQ/store at Caesars Head on US-276 . Each trail worker should bring a small day pack with the following:
Work Gloves
First Aid Kit (personal medicines and Band-Aids)

Small Trowel, toilet paper, and HandiWipes
Snacks (am & pm)
Safety Glasses (If possible)
We suggest that each trail worker wear a work shirt, long pants, hiking boots and a hat.
