Avoid beginning hikes late in the afternoon as you may not be able to complete your hike before sundown. Navigating after dark gets tricky, and most trails are considered closed to the public after sunset unless you’re camping.
By protecting and enhancing the many miles of the Trail, our state has created on outdoor classroom for folks of all ages. Visits to the Trail will encourage conservation and an appreciation for the environment for generations to come.

HIKE QUIETLY. Speak in low voices and turn your cell phone down, if not off. Enjoy the sounds of nature and let others do the same. Think of your hike as a time to disconnect or “unplug” and experience the outdoors.
