The Glendale Outdoor Leadership School (GOLS) teaches outdoor skills to help people feel comfortable and stay safe while exploring the Palmetto Trail and other other adventures in South Carolina’s great outdoors.
GOLS offers a full schedule of outdoor skills instruction. Classes and clinics include mountain biking, paddling, climbing, team building, and leadership training. GOLS also offers the only SOLO Wilderness Medicine certification courses (first aid, first responder, and recertification) in South Carolina. Curricula are designed for participants of all ages and skill levels. Facilities include high and low ropes challenge courses. Activities include summer camps, corporate challenges, and birthday parties. Group and private instruction can be scheduled for any day of the week.
GOLS is located at 270 Wheeling Circle in Glendale, SC, near the Lawson’s Fork and the Pacolet River Blueway in Spartanburg County. Both GOLS and PCF offer a calendar full of events and activities where skills can be practiced.
GOLS was established in 2008 as a Palmetto Conservation program and is supported, in part, by a generous grant from the Mary Black Foundation in Spartanburg, SC.
