We’re taking advantage of the Fall weather and having TWO Member Hikes this month!

Saturday, November 10, as we are head to the Midlands to hike on the Wateree Passage of the Palmetto Trail.

We will be climbing up the high bluffs, as well as walking the flat Civil War rail bed. If you haven’t seen the newly completed boardwalk and suspension bridge, you’re in for a treat!

Hike leader will be Patrick Brittain, one of our Palmetto Trail coordinators.

Length:   Approximately 7 mile hike from Hwy 601 to the skinning shed on Campbell Creek Rd. On the Wateree map this will be from about mile 8.75 to mile 2.

Difficulty: Intermediate (due to the elevation at Molly’s bluff)

Trailhead: Meet at 10:15AM at the Palmetto Trail parking area on Farmstead Rd. off Hwy 601. We will be carpooling to the starting point and will have cars at the other end.  We will need some help staging cars if you are willing which from the Cola area is 40 minutes in between the two points.

No carpool from the PCF office unless you can be flexible on time.

Bring: Comfortable shoes, appropriate clothing, plenty of water, and lunch/snacks.

Free for PCF Members $10.00 for Non-Members
(Payment can be given the morning of the hike)
