Join the 22 Hike Challenge!

Last year’s 21 Hike Challenge got such an incredible response, we are continuing the challenge in 2022!

The 22 Hike Challenge is a way to encourage everyone to get out on the Palmetto Trail and explore South Carolina, all within 22 hikes of your choice. This is a challenge for YOU to find your favorite spots on the trail and to go at your own pace. Make 2022 your best year yet!

22 Hikes in 11 months …You’ve got this!

Just choose (2) hikes per month anywhere on the Palmetto Trail. Your hike could be 1 mile or 10, you choose.
Each month, participants will log their (2) hikes (Passage and mileage must be entered) through the “22 Hike Monthly Challenge Report” form.
At the end of 2022, we will send everyone who completed the challenge a 22 Hike Challenge patch and certificate!
NOTE: You can also choose to bike your mileage to take part in the challenge

The challenge begins on February 1, 2022 and runs until December 31, 2022

Stay Hydrated
Without enough water, your body simply can’t perform as well. If you feel thirsty, your body is already becoming dehydrated. It is hard to drink too much water when you’re physically exerting yourself. Carry plenty of water and remember your pack will get lighter as the day wears on.

The Trail is meant to bring people together—young and old, rich and poor. It’s not just for hard core backpackers, but for families who want to get out into the woods.
