The Coalitions mission is to enhance South Carolinas trail network to advance health and wellness of residents while improving the economic vitality of the various regions of the state. What is Midlands Gives?
Midlands Gives brings the region together as one community, raising money and awareness for local nonprofits in 11 Midlands counties. In addition to being a year-round resource for donors across the Midlands, the initiative amplifies donations during an annual 18-hour online giving challenge the first Tuesday of May. Since its inception in 2014 the event has raised $15.9 million for local nonprofits.

Givebacks, which is a similar concept to AmazonSmile, is an easy way to donate to the Palmetto Trail each time you shop at any of the 15,000 + merchants and retailers you already use. Simply go to www.givebacks.com and create an account. Select the Palmetto Trail as your cause and shop as you normally would. Earn up to 5% on qualifying purchases to help Connect the Trail!

Whatever your donation—from $5 to $5,000,000—the money will help connect The Palmetto Trail, providing access to South Carolina’s magnificent outdoors while protecting our unique habitats and ecosystems. Donations also help support related programs and projects, such as the Palmetto Conservation Corps and Trail Volunteers.
Peak to Prosperity: Trestle Rebuilds
Over the past few years, the Peak to Prosperity Passage has seen a major increase in recreational activity, spurring the need for more frequent repairs and upkeep.
Donation dollars go directly towards the rebuilding and repair of 14 trestles over the course of 5 years.
Gap Creek Passage Project
The new Palmetto Trail Gap Creek Passage will be within the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, covering over 14,000 acres. This specific trail expansion project will focus on Jones Gap State Park around the Gap Creek area.
With a partnership between the Palmetto Trail, The Nature Conservancy, Naturaland Trust and the SC State Parks the project is expected to expand the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area’s trail system up to 20 miles.

Trail Shares
Become an “honorary owner” of a share in the Palmetto Trail, or gift a share to family and friends! One share is 1/100th of a mile of the Trail. Owners receive a printed certificate recognizing ownership and listing the GPS coordinates of their share. 1 share = $25.
Trail Shares can be along any Passage of your choice. If multiple shares are purchased, the recipient can choose to have the shares along (1) passage or divide the shares to be along multiple passages.
Palmetto Conservation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the federal Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
