Dear Palmetto Trail Supporter,
As the pandemic set in, the people of South Carolina looked for unique ways to engage and enjoy safe activities. Many laced up their shoes and headed to the woods! For new hikers, the Trail sparked joy and a sense of adventure. For avid hikers, the Trail brought a sense of peace and familiarity during a time that was unprecedented. Along the Palmetto Trail, hikers take in the beauty of rushing waterfalls, pass Revolutionary War Battlefields that shaped history, delight in regional flora, and, if they are lucky, spot a cub and mom.
Our Trail system connects more than miles — it connects people to the natural world.
Everyone can enjoy the Palmetto Trail, regardless of gender, race, creed, age and ability. Our mission is at the forefront of what we do every day, as we maintain the current 380 miles of Trail and make plans to complete the remaining passages to provide the best possible cross- state Trail for hiking, running, mountain biking, backpacking and camping.Share "#ConnectTheTrail":
