The Summer Crew:

Palmetto Conservation Corps will host an upstate summer crew. This will be a team of six, one crew leader and five crew members, serving in the upstate region of South Carolina for a structured 12-week service term. This condensed service term will expose corps members to a variety of practical skills while they explore future careers and develop confidence in their leadership and teamwork skills.

The summer crew is ideal for college students or recent graduates who are looking to get experience in the field of conservation while giving back to their community. The summer crew will serve on Palmetto Trail Projects in the upstate of South Carolina as well as on projects with state parks, national forests, and community partners.

Summer crew leader: Should have experience in field work, preferably trail related, and some leadership experience. Must have a valid driver’s license for three years or be over the age of 21. Crew leaders should have good communication skills, prior leadership experience preferred.

Crew members: No prior field experience is necessary, but a love of the outdoors will be necessary. Crew members must be willing to work hard, maintain positive attitudes with atypical work days and work well as part of a team

Service Term: 450 hours (May 6, 2024 to July 31, 2024)

Corps members must have their own transportation. Housing is not provided on weekends.
