Passage Hikers – Palmetto Conservation Foundation

A Palmetto Trail Passage Hiker (noun):

A person who has COMPLETED hiking ALL of the Palmetto Trail Passages, one passage at a time (without continuity and not necessarily in sequential order, or within a specific time period).

Example: “Harry is a Palmetto Trail Passage Hiker- together with his dog, he celebrated a hallmark birthday by completing every passage on individual hikes within the year!”

***Patch recipients must have hiked/biked the ENTIRE Palmetto Trail before requesting a patch. Please do not apply for a Passage Hiker Patch if you have not completed all passages.

Stay Hydrated
Without enough water, your body simply can’t perform as well. If you feel thirsty, your body is already becoming dehydrated. It is hard to drink too much water when you’re physically exerting yourself. Carry plenty of water and remember your pack will get lighter as the day wears on.

The Trail is meant to bring people together—young and old, rich and poor. It’s not just for hard core backpackers, but for families who want to get out into the woods.
