Hike in a Group
Always have at least one other person with you if you are traveling on low-traffic trails.
Our state's most treasured and attractive state resource--the Palmetto Trail--finds itself among the distinct aroma of our Lowcountry tidal basins, the gentle flow of our rolling Sandhills, the intoxicating murkiness of our sleepy rivers, and the spectacular sights from our majestic mountains....It is why we refuse to leave and outsiders decide to stay.
- Mikee Johnson
Palmetto Conservation Board Member from Cox Industries
WHEN RELIEVING YOURSELF, be sure to do so 200 feet away from the trail and any water sources. Follow “Leave No Trace” principles.
