Volunteers maintain the local character, preserve historic landmarks, and improve the quality of life for their communities and the Palmetto Trail. Stay Hydrated
Without enough water, your body simply can’t perform as well. If you feel thirsty, your body is already becoming dehydrated. It is hard to drink too much water when you’re physically exerting yourself. Carry plenty of water and remember your pack will get lighter as the day wears on.

The Trail is meant to bring people together—young and old, rich and poor. It’s not just for hard core backpackers, but for families who want to get out into the woods.
