Thru-Hikers – Palmetto Conservation Foundation

A Palmetto Trail Thru Hiker (noun):

A person who COMPLETES the Palmetto trail by hiking from end to end (being sure to include all of the completed Passages in the uninterrupted hike) continuously within a 60-day period.

Example: “Mule and Inchworm are Palmetto Trail Thru Hikers, having completed multiple thru hikes from mountains to sea to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis; they completed one of their thru hikes in just 32 days!”

Stay Hydrated
Without enough water, your body simply can’t perform as well. If you feel thirsty, your body is already becoming dehydrated. It is hard to drink too much water when you’re physically exerting yourself. Carry plenty of water and remember your pack will get lighter as the day wears on.

The Trail is meant to bring people together—young and old, rich and poor. It’s not just for hard core backpackers, but for families who want to get out into the woods.
